13 Anti-War Protestors Arrested for laying down in front of White House
posted 2/8/2010 at 10:26 AM by Jen C
13 representatives from the A Coalition of Minnesotan for Peace are arrested for laying down in front of White House as a representation of the 70+ Minnesotan's that have died in the Iraqi War. It is always such BS to me that people should get arrested for peaceful protest, not to mention that the 7+ police/security men arresting the 13, primarily elderly protesters, look ridiculous. Because clearly these thirteen people are a threat to society. So ridiculous.

This is pretty ridiculous, and it's terrible to think that these are the types of people who are arrested. But I am also glad that there are people who will risk arrest to engage in these protests. They bring awareness to how truly ridiculous arresting 13 peaceful people is in comparison to those being praised for killing and being killed in an unjust and pointless war.

I can't believe they arrested them. They weren't even causing a scene or being rowdy! It's pretty pathetic to arrest someone after honoring their neighbors/friends/family who have passed away.

It makes more of a statement this way. Nonviolent protest works!

Based on the information available here I agree, but I do wonder what is the rest of the story? The video seems rather one-sided.
