I've been blessed to meet 3 Nobel Peace Prize winners already in my life! His Holiness Dalai Lama in 2008, Jose Ramos Horta this year 2009 and I spoke on a panel as the youth representative for the 50th anniversary of Pugwash, a Nobel Peace Prize winning nuclear disarmement organisation in 2007 alongside former Pugwash Secretary General Francesco Calogero. I ve studied on a Gandhian school in India, with peace pilgrim Satish Kumar, Indian environmentalist Dr.Vandana Shiva and the first elected Prime Minister of the Tibet Government in Exile, Ven.Prof.Samdhong Rinpoche. Most recently I was in East Timor for the 10 years anniversary of the 1999 independence referendum, solidarity conference, and the East Timorese National Congress of Victim's Families. Last year, in New Delhi, I was lucky enough to see Vietnamese buddhist master and monk peace teacher Thich Nhat Hanh speak on the anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi's birthday October 2, which is also the UN International Day of Non Violence. Thich Nhat Hanh (also known as 'Thay' which means affectionately means 'teacher'). I write letters to prison inmates with Liberation Prison Project, which provides prison inmates with Buddhist friends and Mentors and is an initiative of Australian Buddhist nun Ven.Robina Courtin. I'm also on the 2009-2010 international outreach/solidarity committee of the Australian Nuclear Free Alliance.
