Project Goal: Grant Middle School's Changemakers wanted to better understand our nations veterans after reading about cases PTSD in this population.

Root Cause: The root cause of this issue is lack of/misunderstanding between groups of people.

Project Plan: After studying the Global Call to Action Issue areas, and scouring the local newpapers, Grant Middle School's Changemakers decided to focus on an event that captured their heart/minds. A veteran murdered a woman. This veteran was suffering from PTSD and his psychiatrist strongly reccommended him for further counseling when his military funding ran out. However, the military denied further funding. Our project was to go to our local VA hospitals' Community Living Center to share stories. Students came with their life maps, introduced themselves by sharing their life stories thus far, then conducted interviews to better understand their vet buddies.
