What research was done for this project? I have befriended various people who are seen negatively by society. Being around them has gotten me to understand their situation. These people lead difficult lives due to various negative influences. I learned that they are just as smart and capable as any other person.
I have befriended various people who are members of society. Many of them hold pre-conceived notions regarding the poor. They believe the poor are in their condition because they choose to be that way. They encourage each other to ignore the poor.
By being associated with both the impoverished man and the social man, I have become aware that there is a gap separating them. The poor create a gap from society by being born under difficult circumstances and being surrounded in a negative environment. Society creates a gap from the poor by not associating themselves with them and being uneducated in issues regarding poverty. |

| How was this project decided upon? I realized that with the proper encouragement and guidance, the poor man can better himself. No one cares about the poor. I started this project because I care. |

How will this project remain ongoing? The project will last a lifetime. Every poor person I encounter I attempt to get to know them and offer my assistance. Some of them might never take up my offer, but there have been people who have. My assistance will take them as far as they desire. If a poor person simply wants to look for a job, then that is the goal of the project. If a poor person wants to enroll back in school, then that is the goal of the project. I listen to their wants and see what I can do to help them.
I also tell the wealthy about these people I encounter. Simply through communication, the wealthy can possibly begin to think about poverty and it's effects. This thinking can lead a wealthy individual to want to assist those less fortunate than himself.
Because the project is small scale, money is not an issue. |

| How is this project going to make a difference? My project is going to wake people up. The poor man will realize that he can overcome. The social man will realize that there is a serious problem that must be addressed- poverty. |
