Project Goal: Create 10,000 food packages for impoverished areas.
Root Cause: Poverty is the root cause of extreme hunger and lack of education is a root cause of poverty.
Project Plan: Peace of Mind will work with Stop Hunger Now to create food packages to be shipped to impoverished areas. Each meal costs twenty-five cents. We committed to 10,000 meals. These meals will become the school lunch program for these poverty strickened areas. Parents will be more likely to send their childen to school if they know their children will get one good, fully nutrional meal each day. The side benefit is the children becoming educated, which will help them break the cycle of poverty.
Stop Hunger Now will bring in food products. Our club will measure, package, weigh, seal and box the finished food packets. We supply the funding($2,500), the place (Waynesville Middle School) and the volunteers (PeaceJammers ready to work). |
