SCA 2009 Chief Joseph Dam Crew
Restoring Earth's Environment
Location:Washington, United States of America
Created:7/10/2009
Last Update:8/16/2009
Project Goal: To restore the natural habitat that was destroyed when the Chief Joseph Dam was put in and raised the water level 30 feet. We plan to plant over 800 trees as well as work on protecting and maintaining a wildlife protection site.

Root Cause: The lack of foliage that allows for an ecosystem to survive. Without trees many plants and animals will die in the high desert. Under the gentle shade of a grove of pines however they can thrive.

Project Plan: We plan to go to Washington and meet with the wildlife biologists who will then take us to our camp site by boat. Once there we will set up our tents and establish ourselves before beginning to restore the overgrown campsite. We will then, over the course of several days, clear over a mile of brush from a cattle fence and create a fire line around the campsite. After these things have been completed we will go to another site were we will plant over 800 trees over the course of a little over a week.
