Rock Relief (dance for justice or social justice festival)
Ending Racism and Hate
Affiliate:Rocky Mountain
Location:Laramie, United States of America
Created:12/14/2009

Project Goal: This is actually with the Laramie High Peacejam club but isn't showing up. This is an annual event where we find local high school, college, and community bands and hip hop groups perform with educational awareness booths, diverse music, and guest speakers between acts. All proceeds go to a cause voted upon by the club and have included in previous years---Life Straw, Safe Project, Schools for Schools, Interfaith Good Samaritan, and Habitat for Humanity in Laramie and in New Orleans. This year will be our 7th annual Rock Relief.

Root Cause: various, but most songs by bands and guest speakers seek to end racism and hate.

Project Plan: This year, we plan to also do a bigger social justice festival. See upcoming GAP.
