LOVE IS RESPECT
Breaking the Cycle of Violence
What specific problem does this project address? Violence in teen dating relationships!
What research was done for this project? Reviewed statistical information provided on www.loveisrespect.org's website.
How was this project decided upon? Student Government was already sponsoring the Valentine's Dance, so this awareness campaign fit in nicely.
How will this project remain ongoing? In March Student Government will be sponsoring a "Bullying Prevention and Awareness Week," as a continuation of their efforts to prevent/address violence at their school.
How is this project going to make a difference? Awareness is the first step towards creating lasting change. If Student Government and PeaceJam Leaders stand up and say violence will not be tolerated, hopefully student attitudes and perceptions will begin to change.
