Helping Haiti
Equal Access to Water and Other Natural Resources
Location:South Windsor, United States of America
Created:1/27/2010
Last Update:1/27/2010
Project Goal: Contribute money to Haitian Health Foundation to assist Haitians during their time of crisis.

Root Cause: Haiti has a history of extreme poverty and lack of access to natural resources. Since the devestating earthquake, their needs have intensified. SWHS PeaceJam will provide monetary support to help a reputable non profit bring relief to the people of Haiti.

Project Plan: During SWHS spirit week, SWHS Peacejammers will hang up a map of Haiti encouraging their classmates to purchase mardi gras beads where the proceeds will benefit the Haitian Health Foundation. For every bead purchased, a water droplet will hang on the map so students can visualize the difference they are making.
