Project Goal: Free Aung San Suu Kyi and other political prisoners/prisoners of conscience.

Root Cause: Military dictatororial, illegal rulers of Burma (which they call Myanmar) are keeping 1991 Nobel Peace Laureate Aung San Suu Kyi inprisoned against international human rights law.

Project Plan: We will host a letter writing campaign calling for an end to her imprisonment immediately. We will publicize the event to WWU students. We will coordinate with the larger Amnesty International event in conjunction with Global Human Rights Day. We will provide an overview of who Aung San Suu Kyi is, what the history is (from multiple perspectives), what can be done, and provide an opportunity for advocacy on her behalf at an event on campus.
