Project Goal: Collect as many personal health care items (tooth brushes, tooth paste, shampoo, deodorant, etc.) as possible for our four partnering organizations: Arvada Community Food Bank, JeffCo Action Center, Colorado Coalition for the Homeless, and the Inter-Church Arms.
Root Cause: The root causes for poverty are lack of education, proper training, lack of compassion, and the economic recession. For this project we wanted to provide items for those who are in need, especially since those using food stamps are unable to buy the collected items.
Project Plan: Preparation:
1. Find Partnering Organizations in the Arvada (and beyond) community.
2. Collect a list of the items that the organizations are in need of
3. Make a flier to promote the event
4. Recruit Neighborhood Captains to distribute fliers to their neighbors
5. Recruit other volunteers using emailing list
6. Lead a conference call to touch base with the Neighborhood Captains
Day of:
1. Collect Info from Participants (Sign-in)
2. Collect items
3. Sort Items
4. Divide for the four partnering organizations
5. Deliver to the partner organizations
6. Send out photographs and information to participants and community |
