Project Goal: Bradford Student Solidarity is a group of students from the University of Bradford who are opposed to the UK Government's cuts to the education sector. We aim to increase public awareness of this issue, campaign against these cuts, and ultimately to change government attitudes towards the education sector.
Root Cause: The UK government is cutting vital funds to FE and HE in the UK.
Project Plan: Our group came together during an occupation of the University of Bradford's Management Suite. Since then we have publicised our group using creative demonstrations techniques and through leafleting around the University and the local FE college. We produce information sheets outlining how the cuts will affect different groups of people. We work closely with the Bradford People's Coalition Against the Cuts to share information, materials and energy. We will be working with local trades unions to get to the national demonstration in London in March. We are also organising and hosting the Yorkshire Student Assembly in March. |
