Breaking the Cycle of Violence
Affiliate:Heartland

Project Goal: Paint Jam will be a motivational event that will teach people about violence prevention through a networking activity and food. The proceeds raised by this event will go to ReStart, a teen hotline and shelter for families.

Root Cause: Violence can be caused by people being different from one another and not being exposed to those differences in a positive manner. Unfamiliarity of differences/lifestyles/habits.

Project Plan: We will host a dinner or pancake breakfast where people will donate goods or money that will be donated to ReStart. Attendees will also make a giant peace sign out of handprints on a piece of fabric. We want to bring people from different parts of the community together to know we are all one. We will also try to volunteer at ReStart to gain a greater connection with the people we want to help.
