According to the Human Rights Activists New Agency, "Nooshin Ebadi, the sister of Shirin Ebadi winner of Noble Peace Prize, which was arrested on Dec 28 after Ashura events, was released on bail.

Shirin Ebadi, in a conversation with Deutshe Welle while confirming her sister’s release said said: 'my sister was not arrested; she was taken as hostage, and is released now.'

Shirin Ebadi emphasized that her sister had no political or even social activity, and was arrested only because of human rights activities of Shirin Ebadi and in order to put her under pressure.

The noble peace prize winner said, she is worried about the other members of her family, specially her brother, and is afraid that they will bother him in order to put pressure on her."
