National Youth Leadership Training July 14-21, 2012 in Minnesota

The 2012 National Youth Leadership Training is a life-changing week of adventure, self-discovery, cultural exchange, leadership-building, and service where young people learn the skills needed to tackle pressing issues in their communities, including the achievement gap.

Youth participants attend the eight-day training, and adult mentors join for the final three days. The training will be held July 14-21, 2012 at the Audubon Center of the North Woods in Sandstone, Minn.

“In response to racial tensions with 1970’s school desegregation, NYLC founder Jim Kielsmeier launched what is now called the National Youth Leadership Training as a place for all young people to create and grow in an inclusive community. Today, NYLC remains committed to developing young leaders through this transformational program.” —Kelita Bak, NYLC CEO

There is still time to organize a group of high-school aged youth and a mentor to attend this life-changing week!

Teams of at least two youth and one adult mentor are encouraged to attend. All aspects of diversity are considered during the application process and space is limited! Registration packets must be submitted electronically or postmarked by Friday, May 25, 2012.

Limited scholarships are available.
