Iranian government still harrasing Shirin Ebadi's family

Shirin Ebadi's family is STILL continuously persecuted and pressured in an order to stop Shirin's activism and campaign for human rights and social justice in Iran while abroad. As many of you know earlier last week her Nobel Peace Prize was confiscated from her office, and her bank accounts frozen under the pretext that she owes the government taxes despite letters from Oslo confirming that the Nobel Peace Prize is tax exempt while the Iranian Constitution itself does not qualify prizes as taxable salary. None the less the Iranian government will go to any measures even if contradicting itself to put any kind of pressure on Shirin and her family. She is a true human rights advocate, she continues to plow through the obstacles in front of her and I am so very proud of her!

Another example of the Iranian government's generally idiotic policies... I wonder if they truly don't realize that by stealing her prize, they earned her TONS of news coverage which only serves to promote what she is working on while making them look foolish.

I totally agree Scott. Their reaction just shows how effective she is being in insisting on human rights for all.
