Greater Texas Slam last Saturday

Last Saturday, November 7th, we had our Greater Texas PeaceJam Slam at the Jewish Community Center. Students and adult sponsors participated in activities surrounding the theme "Eliminating Extreme Poverty", including part of the documentary Black Gold, and a speaker from Ten Thousand Villages. The Hunger Banquet during lunch was a hit. Some of the students looked very worried when they thought they were eating only a small cup of rice for lunch (but everyone could eat enough after the presentation). It was an intimate gathering with a lot of energy and enthusiasm.

Thanks MC's Myra and Claudia, all the mentors, Yes Prep, and Rachel at the Jewish Community Center for making this event possible! Pictures to follow...
