Check out this awesome project by PeaceJammers in the Northeast!

The Clothesline Project is a t-shirt display that is a voice for domestic violence survivors. It is a volunteer effort to educate and raise awareness concerning domestic violence. Our group, The Waterbury Peace Jammers, will create a clothesline for a public display on Saturday May 14, 2011 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on the Waterbury Green. We hope to raise consciousness and to help educate the community at large. Safe Haven will support and service domestic violence victims during the display and will work with us to create a place to help heal and educate. We will then share the clothesline with our area high schools to bring awareness of the impact of violence and to help break the silence often surrounded by these experiences.

This is brilliant. I saw a similar project to this when I was in the Hague way back when I was 17. It was a clothesline campaign around women who were victims of sexual violence in their communities. I will post pics. It is a powerful way to represent the issue and get people thinking--and hopefully acting!
