Judging from the fact that Archbishop Desmond Tutu is a part of PeaceJam, he cares strongly for the education of youth. But his reach obviously extends well past PeaceJam. This time his words of wisdom have landed on the The Huffington Post, where he and Dennis Van Roekel recently penned an Op-Ed about the importance of making sure every child receives an education. It's titled "Facing the Future: Global Education at the Crossroads."

Desmond Tutu wrote:
It is our moral obligation to give every child the very best education possible. It is our moral obligation to give every child the very best education possible. We must be willing to do more than talk and put universal education on the fast track to break the cycle of illiteracy and poverty running rampant in regions around the world.

thank you PJ for keeping us up to date on what the Nobels are doing =)

I totally agree with what the Arch is saying. I wish we could put it into practice - when we spend 1 trillion a year on defense spending but can't find any money to give to education, I think that's a sign of something being very wrong.
