Jaala HWelcome PeaceJam mentors! This is a place for you to chat about your mentor experiences and to get to know each other prior to mentor training. Please introduce yourself and tell us why you wanted to be a PeaceJam mentor, or tell us about your favorite PeaceJam mentor experience.

Sam WHey, I'm Sam. I've mentored for a few conferences now and I love it.
The Global Call to Action Jam in LA was actually the first Jam I mentored for, which was amazing and overwhelming at the same time.

P.S.
Rocky Mountain Mentors should join the mentor club. :)

I'm not sure if this is where I'm supposed to post, but I'm sure I'll be pointed in the right direction if needed. :)

My name's Kindra, and I'm applying to become a mentor for the Denver Youth Conference featuring Jose Ramos-Horta later on this May.
I've never mentored before, but I was apart of my local Peace Jam chapter in high school for about a year, and I've attained several leadership positions involving youth since then.
I'm currently a sophomore in college, and I'm majoring in Psychology with the goal to use my knowledge to spread understanding cross-culturally.
I hope I'm accepted into the Mentor position, and I'm excited to meet all the new PeaceJammers from my region. :)

Hi there!
I'm Lauren (but go by Devin) and I've applied to be a mentor with PeaceJam ^.^ I am a counseling psychology graduate student at the University of Colorado at Denver and fairly new to the Denver area. I can't wait to get involved with the community and look forward to meeting some of you! :D

How would i go about becoming a mentor?
Posted 8/23/2011 at 1:58 PM by Sam W (samwellie)
Sam WHi Ethan,
Sorry this reply is so belated! :(

Our next conference will be around October. When the event is posted on the website, there will also be a mentor application that you can fill out and send to RMR PeaceJam. The conference should also be announced in the e-blast when the speaker and date are announced.
