 My name is Bryan Banville and I am the new Youth Program Director at Excel Youth Zone (XYZ) here in San Diego. For those of you who I have not introduced myself to yet, I have taken over coordination of the San Diego Chapter of PeaceJam as well as the other curriculum based programs XYZ facilitates.
Over the past 2-3 months XYZ has been working directly with the national office of the PeaceJam Foundation in Denver to make some big changes in our partnership and role with PeaceJam! As of January 1, 2011, we have become the Southern
California Chapter for PeaceJam supporting programming in 10 counties in Southern Cal. This is the first step in housing a California PeaceJam affiliate and the Nevada and Arizona regions at XYZ! XYZ's goal is to be an affiliate for
California by July 1, 2011.
In order to facilitate this process we are currently recruiting members for our Leadership Team to help in the development process for the affiliate. We are reaching out to individuals across the state to help guide and develop the affiliate in providing strong programming throughout the state!
We will be holding an informational conference call on January 20th at 2:00pm PST for all those interested in joining the team. Information on how to gain access to this call will be sent to those interested parties. I look forward to hearing from you and please do not hesitate to contact me with any additional questions, concerns, or to talk about next steps.
