PeaceJam is the only organization in the world which has so many Nobel Peace Laureates working together long-term for a common cause - our youth. PeaceJam’s incredible impacts on youth and communities are only possible through the support of friends of PeaceJam like you!

In 2008, with the support of small individual donations, PeaceJam was able to:
  • Host PeaceJam’s Global Call to Action Conference with 6 Nobel Peace Laureates and over 2,300 youth from 25 countries in Los Angeles
  • Release PeaceJam’s new book, PEACEJAM: A Billion Simple Acts of Peace (Penguin Publishing, 20008), written by PeaceJam founders, Dawn Engle and Ivan Suvanjieff
  • Launch PeaceJam’s ‘Poverty to Peace’ Initiative engaging a team of 13 AmeriCorps VISTA Members to build the capacity of PeaceJam programming in 10 regions across the US
  • Welcome one new PeaceJam Affiliate in the Southeastern US and five new PeaceJam Chapters in California and West Africa
  • Host 13 transformative youth conferences with Nobel Peace Laureates, train over 700 new adult facilitators to implement PeaceJam programs, and engage over twelve thousand youth in our year-long kindergarten through college programs, who in turn completed thousands of Global Call to Action projects in their communities.
  • Document that youth who participate in PeaceJam programs score higher on measures of school, community, and civic engagement and have a greater commitment to non-violent conflict resolution, social justice, and human rights than their peers.

We understand that these are challenging financial times for many. Today, more than ever, PeaceJam needs your support. We need your help to reach our ambitious goals for 2009 which include:
  • The build-up to one BILLION Global Call to Action projects
  • The doubling of PeaceJam’s ‘Poverty to Peace’ Initiative to 27 AmeriCorps VISTA Members to build the capacity of PeaceJam programming in 15 regions across the US
  • New PeaceJam Chapters in Europe and Canada
  • State-of-the-art technologies to deliver PeaceJam trainings and programming
  • Expansion of Juniors, Leaders, Ambassadors, Scholars, and Juvenile Justice programs around the globe

PeaceJam allocates 84% of expenses to programs and services directly affecting the over 600,000 youth served since 1996. Fundraising accounts for only 6% of PeaceJam expenses while only 10% of PeaceJam expenses go toward general and administrative costs.
