Hero's Luncheon

I had the honor of attending the Hero Award Luncheon in Denver last week. It was an amazing event and it was both interesting and great to see members of the Denver community at a Peace Jam function.
True to any PeaceJam event, the program was high energy and focused a lot on the students and the volunteers. It was great to see the work being done in PeaceJam and the community response was very warm.

Rigoberta Menchu Tum was delightful as always and she addressed the community members in much the same tone that she uses when speaking for groups of high school aged peace jammers. I was very happy to see this. She really respects the high school students and treats them with the same attitude as she would a group of distinguished donors from Denver.

Overall, the event was wonderful and I'm looking forward to the years to come.

That's very cool. I wasn't in the room for much of the program (stuck doing behind the scenes work) so it's nice to hear that it went well!
