There is a good discussion in the message boards called "what is war" that you might want to look at.

I think in its most simple and understandable way the "Golden Rule" is peace. If we as humans really thought of our actions in terms of if they were happening to us and how we would feel about them, then the world would be a better place. In terms of living peacefully, well I work for peacejam, which advocates for peace is many different ways, but in my life I also do my best to live with kindness towards everyone who's path I cross. The reason I think war exists is because we have allowed war and violence to remain a culturally acceptable response. As long as we continue to let those in power think that war and violence is okay, it will be.

ummm.... that´s really interesting! I´m really agree with u! I think that too... I think we have wars because people has accept them in someway, and also I think that the main cause is money, and the black gold, Oil!!!

I think war and violence is also a reflection of our own internal beings. If we are in conflict within we tend to create conflict without. So for me, Peace begins within myself and then is reflected in my outer experiences in the world. I try to be especially conscious of this with my children so that they can also impact their world for future generations.
