Be2021

Yesterday, a friend of mine launched a project that he has been working on for awhile now. The project is a youth-led movement launched before the 10th anniversary of 9-11 to create a better world by 2021, and it's called Be2021.

We will build a youth-led movement to create a better world by 2021 (the 20th anniversary of 9/11) by launching a campaign around the 10th anniversary that will empower young people to not only envision what that world should be, but act to make that world a reality.

They are asking youth to declare their vision. There is also an art contest where those who wish to can submit an artwork showcasing what their vision looks like.

Be2021 is a campaign of Americans for Informed Democracy, a national student organization empowering young people across the US to exercise their power to bring about a peaceful, healthy, just and sustainable world. We do this by educating, cultivating and mobilizing a network of young people in the US to take informed action around our individual and collective roles as global citizens.

It seems like a pretty neat movement to me, and I'm interested to see where it heads. I hope you all check it out
